The four C’s
1. Communication
Communication is simply the act of transferring information from one place, person, or group to another. The different categories of communication include:
• Verbal communication includes face-to-face, telephone, radio, television, and other forms of media.
• There are many subtle ways that we communicate (perhaps even unintentionally) with others. Nonverbal communication includes body language, gestures, how we dress or act, and where we stand.
• Written communication, which includes letters, e-mails, social media, books, etc. Today, we can all write and publish our ideas online, which has led to an explosion of information and communication possibilities.
• Visualizations: graphs and charts, maps, logos, and other visual representations can all communicate messages.
2. Creativity
Creativity represents the ability to develop new or imaginative ideas and turn them into reality. Businesses can use creativity in the workplace to create innovative solutions or more positive and collaborative work environments. Creativity encourages employees to think outside the norm and experiment.
Creativity is the practice of thinking outside the box.
3. Critical thinking
Critical thinking is the practice of solving problems, among other qualities.
In addition to working through problems, solving puzzles, and similar activities, critical thinking also includes an element of skepticism.
4. Collaboration
Collaboration is the practice of working together to achieve a common goal.
Practicing collaboration and teamwork helps members of a corporation understand how to address a problem, pitch solutions, and decide the best course of action. Synergy plays a lead role in the need for collaboration.
